I have had 5 internships/jobs that have molded my career plans. My first was at United Way the summer after my sophomore year. My practicum was writing the morning news for ‘The Breakfast Club’ on XLR. I worked and ran social media for a small coffee shop (Yo’Cup) in Clinton, SC. I taught at a academically based summer camp called Momentum during the summer of 2016. And now I’m interning for a Sunshine City (tanning and gifts), a small business, in Clinton.
I learned a lot during my time interning and working at all of these places. My internships covered a variety of tasks and required a different set of skills for each one. I am grateful I had the opportunity to discover different areas while still in college. They each have shaped (both deterred and encouraged) what I would like to do post-graduation.
Revisions to Business Text from Business Communications.
These are both examples from the Final Portfolio for Business Communications.
For XLR I compiled all the news either late at night or in the early morning to make sure the news was as up-to-date as possible. Here is an example of this.
Below are examples of advertisements I’ve made while working different places. I took all the pictures in these ads, as well as wrote the text and did the graphic design.
