On this page are a few of my ‘real world’ work examples as well as a few pieces that I completed while in college.
I had 5 internships/jobs that molded my career plans. My first was at United Way of Laurens County, the summer after my sophomore year. My practicum class during my junior year of college was writing the morning news for ‘The Breakfast Club’ on XLR Lander Radio. I also worked at and ran social media for a small coffee shop (Yo’Cup) in Clinton, SC. I then taught at a academically based summer camp called Momentum during the summer of 2016. And then I interned for Sunshine City (tanning and gifts), a small business, in Clinton my last semester of college and worked there for a while after I graduated.
I learned a lot during my time interning and working at all of these places. My internships covered a variety of tasks and required a different set of skills for each one. At both Yo’ Cup and Sunshine City I ran multiple platforms of social media like Facebook and Instagram pages. I am grateful I had the opportunity to discover different areas while still in college. They each have shaped (both deterred and encouraged) what I believe I would like to do post-graduation.
These are text examples from my Business Communications class.

For XLR I compiled all the news either late at night or in the early morning to make sure the news was as up-to-date as possible. Here is an example of this.
Below are examples of advertisements I’ve made while working different places as well as a website that I updated and ran during my time at Sunshine City.
I took all the pictures in these ads, as well as wrote the text and did the graphic design.
